Hellsing ARM .454 Casull Auto by Rethana Hellsing ARM .454 Casull Auto by Rethana
A remake of my old 3DS MAX 454 Casull model from the Hellsing Ultimate OVA, this time using Cinema 4D.

Modeling time: Around 18 hours, 1 sitting.
Render time: 10 hours

Hellsing ARM .454 Casull Auto
Projectile: Custom Silver .454 Caliber 13mm Hollow-Point Explosive Casull rounds
Propellant: Unknown mix of chemicals
Magazine: 6
Length: 39cm
Maker: Hellsing Arms Weapons Industrials Co. Ltd©
The gun fires custom 13mm silver, hollow-point bullets with an explosive core. Highly illegal against humans but perfectly acceptable and useful against Vampires. The long barrel and custom propellant mix fire these bullets at a rate of over 701m/s (2300 fps) with 2212 ft·lbf (3.0 KJ) of energy at a maximum distance of 1.5 Kilometers (5018 feet). The bullets easily pass through flesh and body tissue, clothing, doors, walls, and at close range can penetrate some forms of light to heavy Body Armor. The m/s these bullets can pull off along with their overall power mixed with the explosive core make these bullets highly feared by the living and undead alike, blowing large chunks of flesh away with each hit, making this one of the most powerful pistols in current existence.

The gun is actually longer than it appears, but the angle makes it look a little fat and stuby. I know the magazine looks a little weird, but that is how it looks in the anime and I am fine with that. There is more detail in the grip then it shows in the render, so do not mind the smoothness much if it is odd.

Overall I'm impressed with myself. I just sat down and said, "I should remake some of my old models" and boom, 18 hours later and this gets done and another 10 hours and I get it rendered.

If you look at the internet for pictures of the gun in the anime you will most likely find the old anime's version called the "Joshua", a misstranslation of what the gun actually says on the side and overall all the art and story of the old anime was just terrible.
So, in honor of the remake of the manga/anime into an OVA series, I remade this gun to look up-to-date.

Not to be a nerd cartridge stickler but the .454 Casull is a rimmed catridge like the .45 long colt, it is not a "rimless" cartridge like a .45ACP. The round shown in the picture is clearly "rimless" in that it does not have a protruding rim. It does have an extractor though. Unless this round uses a special .454 Rimless round it should have a protruding rim.

Pardon it this should read... It does have an extractor groove though.

M3d13val I must say you’re flaming over something that is admittedly incorrect and was never meant to be accurate, if you have such an issue with the specs please do call Mr. Kouta Hirano and complain all you like about how an anime is incorrect. With this statement being made, you sir, have a good day.

P.S Rathana, You did an amazing job please do keep up the amazing work.

The ejection port is too short to effectively eject shells of that length. A hollow point would make no sense if used in conjunction with an explosive core. A fuse mounted on a ballistic type tip would be more realistic. A standard .454 Casull could only dream of hitting targets at a maximum range of 200. With a barrel that long I would give you 250 meters for the benefit of the doubt. But you're saying over a kilometer, that is more unrealistic than vampires themselves. Finally 13 mm is over 50 caliber. A casull bullet is 11.5 mm. Good day.
